Mars Pathfinder Power and Pyro Subsystem Documents Collection, 1977-1996.

The collection includes twenty-seven boxes. The documents in this collection cover the Mars Pathfinder Project Power and Pyro Subsystem from 1977-1996. Boxes 1 through 4 are Mars Pathfinder Lander and Cruise Arrays documentation with development information from 1977 to 1994. The data generated relates to Mars Dust, Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews presentations, and contract management paperwork under contract number 959973. Boxes 5 through 15 include documentation representing power distribution units S/N 001-002, shunt limiter unit lander S/N 001-002, and pyro switching unit A/B and C S/N 001-003. This also comprises lander solar panel acceptance test plans petal 1-3, and power distribution units from 1994 to 1995. Boxes 16 through 20 constitute Project Element Manager (PEM) power electronics tests, and general subsystem photographs. Boxes 21 through 27 consist of power electronics drawings from Loral Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS), PEM thermal battery silver zinc 1-3 documents and drawings, battery connector drawings, and PEM battery end item data packages from 1994 to 1996 under contract number 960161. The collection arrangement maintains the original uniformity as found. The arrangement is chronological by subject and date. In boxes 12 through 15, and 17 through 18, are sequential document control numbers which constitute the arrangement of these documents. Also, the arrangement of document control numbers continues through boxes 21 to 26, which include the solar array drawings. All document control numbers are located as part of the file title. Located in box 1 is a copy of the content list submitted by Matt Wallace.
